Check with them first if you are inside the village, because in some of the corporations the plumbing inside a unit is theirs to maintain and arranging it yourself can mean paying for something you did not have to. If it turns out to be yours, or you are in a freestanding home, we handle it from there. Asking us costs nothing either way.

My unit shares walls. What happens if the leak has reached next door?
We shut the water off and contain it before doing anything else, because in a shared building the damage travels faster than the diagnosis. Once it has stopped we find the cause. If the source sits in a wall or a line that is not yours, that is the point where your corporation needs to be involved, and we will tell you clearly.
The unit is over sixty years old. Is everything going to need replacing?
Usually not. What fails at that age is the small stuff that was never meant to last this long: angle stops, flexible supply lines, toilet internals, and the water heater. Those are individual jobs, not a whole-house project, and replacing them as they come is far cheaper than waiting for one to burst.
