Vista Plumber
Good pressure at the kitchen sink and almost nothing in the upstairs shower is the complaint we hear most from this city, and on ground like this it nearly always traces back to a single part. All Star Plumbing answers Vista plumber calls at any hour, reaches the door inside 60 minutes, and puts the price in writing before anybody opens anything up.
- 60-minute response
- $0 service call
- Free written estimate before any work

Clear about scope: pool and spa equipment, garden irrigation and private wells are outside what we do. Everything serving the house is ours, supply, waste, hot water, fixtures and gas.
What should you know about plumbing on Vista's hills?
Vista is nineteen square miles of hills and valleys sitting a few miles back from the coast, high enough at around three hundred feet to be noticeably warmer than the beach and broken up enough that two houses a street apart can be at quite different heights. Elevation is what drives water pressure, so the pressure at your house depends on where you sit relative to the supply rather than on how new the plumbing is.
The other local fact is where the water comes from. The district serving the city holds its own supply in a reservoir it owns inland, rather than depending entirely on imported water, and it has done since the 1920s when that supply is what made the area farmable. For a household the point is the mineral content of what arrives, because that is what settles in a water heater and shortens the life of fixture cartridges.
Age is mixed here in a way that rewards a question on the phone. The city incorporated in 1963 and grew in stages, so a call can be to an older house near the village with original fittings, or to a 1980s master-planned street where the pipe is sound and the short-life parts are what fail. Knowing which before we set off decides what comes off the truck.

I had John and helper come out on a Sunday evening when my water heater quit on me. Got it replaced and had hot water in a quickly manner. Definitely recommend these guys
Oscar, I believe is the techs name. He stated, he would be at my place at a certain time and he was. Oscar did an impeccable job very professional – he is a keeper. You should be proud to have Oscar part of your team.
Sergio did an amazing job with my leak issue at my home. He tested everything and was very thorough and knowledgeable about what needed to be done and explained everything to me. Being a Master plumber it was evident he knows what he’s doing.
The pressure is different upstairs and downstairs. Is that normal?
Some difference is normal and expected, because pressure drops as water rises through the house. A large difference, or pressure that has changed recently, points at the regulator or at a restriction in the supply. It is quick to test at a hose bib, and testing tells you which of the two it is instead of guessing.
Do you charge to come out and look?
No. The visit and a visual assessment are $0, with a free written estimate before any work starts. Decline it and you owe nothing. A camera or a pressure test is a tools-out diagnosis, which is billable and job-dependent, and it is priced in the estimate before we run it.
Is the water here hard, and what does it do?
Hard enough that it is the main thing shortening a water heater’s life. Scale settles in the bottom of the tank and insulates the burner from the water, so the unit works harder and fails sooner. After that it goes after fixture cartridges, aerators and shower heads. Softening or filtration slows it down.
We are on a well rather than the district. Can you help?
Not with the well, the pump or the pressure tank, which are outside what we do. Everything from the house side inward is ours, so if a problem turns out to be on the well equipment we will tell you rather than work around it.
My house is one of the older ones. What tends to go first?
Angle stops that have not been turned in decades, the flexible supply lines behind a toilet or under a sink, and the water heater. Those three account for most of what we see on older stock here, and each is a small job taken early and an expensive one taken late.
How fast can somebody get out to me?
60 minutes, day or night, anywhere in the city. Emergency calls do not wait behind booked work, so a burst line in the evening gets a tech that evening.
